Castlevania Season 3 [NO SPOILERS]

From Netflix: “Belmont and Sypha settle into a village with sinister secrets, Alucard mentors a pair of admirers, and Isaac embarks on a quest to locate Hector.” What I liked: How events within the first two seasons have shaped Trevor and Sypha’s relationship. Alucard’s dolls FOREVER. The action sequences (once they finally get there) areContinue reading “Castlevania Season 3 [NO SPOILERS]”

THROUGH LEVELS OF LOVE: How Link And Zelda Taught Me About Romance & Commitment

An alternate perspective on relationships through video games.

Rampage

Liked: Fully embraces the silliness of it’s concept in a light-hearted and fun way. Based on a video game I played a lot growing up. The banter between the characters is also fun. Hey, a bunch of monsters beating each other up! Better looking special effects than Avengers: Infinity War. Good pacing, never feels slow.Continue reading “Rampage”

Ready Player One

What I Liked: Certain moments in the movie, like the Zemeckis Cube, as well as other moments featuring characters and movie items that touched all my nostalgia bones. The action scenes were a lot of fun. What I Disliked: Read the book years ago, and only mildly enjoyed it. I didn’t really care for overallContinue reading “Ready Player One”

Tomb Raider (2018)

What I Liked: The actress did her own stunts. What I Disliked: Slow. Not much “tomb raiding” in a movie called Tomb Raider. The lead actress just didn’t seem right for the role. I disliked it. Floor Kids (Nintendo Switch)

Hey, it’s our first video game review! I’m more than happy to start em on the right foot. Floor Kids is a rhythm type video game (think Guitar Hero, Just Dance, etc) for the Nintendo Switch where you breakdance in arcades, supermarkets, street corners, etc. When I first saw the preview, the breakdancing took meContinue reading “Floor Kids (Nintendo Switch)”

Ducktales (tv) (2017)

First things first: I haven’t watched the original “Ducktales” cartoon in DECADES. Sometimes, things like movies, cartoons and music don’t hold up to our cynical adult views, and it’s best to leave them in the past with our youthful innocence. But that doesn’t mean you can’t turn that thirst for nostalgia into a much more richContinue reading “Ducktales (tv) (2017)”

Castlevania (tv)

An adaptation of a long-running video game franchise released on the first Nintendo Entertainment System back in 1986, and heavily influenced by Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. Check out that kick-ass intro! written by Warren Ellis, a writer who over the last 10 years (when I first became a fan), has written some great comics, someContinue reading “Castlevania (tv)”
