Moonlight Fox (2020) (YouTube Short)

Gonna try something a little different with our latest review… Moonlight Fox is a character created by Jordan Gibson. From what I understand, the character is inspired by the Tokusatsu genre in Japan (Godzilla and the Power Rangers would be the most famous example to those of us who are unfamiliar), but particularly inspired byContinue reading “Moonlight Fox (2020) (YouTube Short)”

Sym-Bionic Titan (2010) (TV)

From IMDb: “Three young alien beings with the ability to form a giant robotic warrior attempt to blend into suburbia, all while battling the tyrannical forces that ravaged their home world.” What I liked: A forgotten gem from master animator Genndy Tartakovsky, who I’ve mentioned before when reviewing his latest show, Primal. Paul Rudish andContinue reading “Sym-Bionic Titan (2010) (TV)”

Cobra Kai (SEASON 2)

(Editor’s note: trying a new review format. We’re gonna discuss (and rate) the major categories in which movies and tv shows are made. Tell us what you thought! – Jose) See our review to Season 1 here. From IMDB: “Decades after their 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament bout, a middle-aged Daniel LaRusso and Johnny LawrenceContinue reading “Cobra Kai (SEASON 2)”

Blinded by the Light

Per IMDB: “In 1987, during the austere days of Margaret Thatcher‘s Britain, a teenager learns to live life, understand his family, and find his own voice through the music of Bruce Springsteen.” What I Liked: This movie is based on a book by journalist Sarfraz Manzoor, a Pakistani immigrant living in London with his family.Continue reading “Blinded by the Light”

Cobra Kai

Liked: An awesome reboot/sequel that doesn’t use nostalgia as a crutch, but merely to establish the story. Clever use of segmented flashbacks keeps the audience informed of the franchise’s history, which would help (or even enhance) a new-to-the-franchise viewer. The basic premise is pretty much the same as the first Karate Kid movie, however, theContinue reading “Cobra Kai”

Rampage

Liked: Fully embraces the silliness of it’s concept in a light-hearted and fun way. Based on a video game I played a lot growing up. The banter between the characters is also fun. Hey, a bunch of monsters beating each other up! Better looking special effects than Avengers: Infinity War. Good pacing, never feels slow.Continue reading “Rampage”

Ready Player One

What I Liked: Certain moments in the movie, like the Zemeckis Cube, as well as other moments featuring characters and movie items that touched all my nostalgia bones. The action scenes were a lot of fun. What I Disliked: Read the book years ago, and only mildly enjoyed it. I didn’t really care for overallContinue reading “Ready Player One”

Floor Kids (Nintendo Switch)

Hey, it’s our first video game review! I’m more than happy to start em on the right foot. Floor Kids is a rhythm type video game (think Guitar Hero, Just Dance, etc) for the Nintendo Switch where you breakdance in arcades, supermarkets, street corners, etc. When I first saw the preview, the breakdancing took meContinue reading “Floor Kids (Nintendo Switch)”
