Star Wars: the Last Jedi

  • It’s LONG.
  • There’s a particular sequence that I feel definitely slows down the movie.
  • Multiple story arcs happening at the same time bog the whole thing down a bit.
  • It’s the most artistically shot Star Wars movie that’s ever been made. #Cinema101
  • Rogue One had some impressive space-battle sequences, but the ones here destroy them to oblivion; Some truly incredible and iconic sequences happen in this movie.
  • Just like Rogue One, I felt that this one made an attempt to expand the Star Wars universe with new characters and story threads versus pandering and anchoring them to nostalgia.
  • Characters are going to do things in this movie that many hard-core fans will not like, and it will take the story in places that many hard-core fans will not like. GOOD. Throughout history, the greatest movies have made us feel good and happy, but they’ve also played with our emotions. They’ve made us cry. They’ve scared us or dared us to think differently. Comfort breeds complacency, and complacency has no room in film.
